Advanced Individual Training
After BCT, trainees attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT) to learn the skills of the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) the trainee has chosen. AIT is hands-on training and field instruction to make trainees an expert in their specific career field. Additionally, trainees gain a discipline and work ethic that will help them reach both military and civilian goals.
AIT courses can range anywhere from 6 to 52 weeks to complete depending on the technical difficulty of the career field chosen. In addition to learning the skills needed for their MOS. Soldiers will also be tested on physical fitness, weapons proficiency as well as maintaining a strict daily schedule similar to BCT.
