South Lyon resident Ken Dilg Promoted to Col. with the Michigan Army National Guard

LANSING, Mich. --

LANSING, Mich. – Ken Dilg, of South Lyon , was promoted to colonel, in the Michigan Army National Guard, July 16, 2016. Dilg is the assistant chief of staff for operations within the MIARNG 46th Military Police Command.

Dilg, a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) received his new rank insignia from Maj. Gen. Michael White, Commander of the MIARNG 46th Military Police Command during a ceremony held at the Michigan National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters installation in Lansing.

Dilg began his military service with the U.S. Army in 1987 after completing basic training at Fort Sill, Okla. He has received numerous awards throughout his military career, including two Bronze Stars, and a Joint Service Achievement Medal.

Dilg earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Ferris State University and is a Michigan State Police post commander on the civilian side of his career.

He and his wife, Jill, have three children, Elizabeth, Robert and Harry.

The new colonel is the son of Bruce and Robin Dilg of Big Rapids, Michigan.
